I voted Ulduar BUT

I honestly think that the peak of raiding was in Burning Crusade. None of the Lich King ones really holds a candle, inmho to the BC raids and raid sequence.

Naxx is completely lore free. It's just a scourge place now. In the old world there were at least quests and argent dawn rep, and nobody went to it....So they decided to get more poeple into Naxx and see it, but they neglected to add quests or rep, or anything. Hell just a fucking faction and faction rep from Naxx, with faction rewards, and a single quest line running from somewhere underneath the damn place would have been 100x better. As it is it's storyless and I think that takes away from it. I like the winged aspect of it, but at the same time some of those wings are a bitch if you wipe at the end of it.

OS is cool, but again....Totally storyless. Hey look a portal! Lets go through it and kill shit! Seriously what the hell is the point of that? Sure there is story OUT of the game, or hidden in a book here or there, but again..pointless. Have it have Wyrmrest rep, and a single quest from the top of the temple to kill Sarth and I'd be happier, but again it's a simplified Gruul's Lair. Too easy, and even with leaving drakes up, it's nowhere near as complicated as the High King Maulgar fight imho...just harder with 3, but not complicated.

VoA doesn't do it for me. A little bit of trash, lack of story, and some bosses that drop loot. I don't hate the place, but it just seems pointless and questless again.

EoE of the intial round of raids was probably the best. You got the key off Sapphiron which led to a quest to go in there and kill Malygos so in a way it's the only one in Lich King that had a fucking quest attached to it. In that I should give it the win right off the bat, including that it's easy to get back in after wiping, and it's a tough and complicated fight, with multiple stages, and needs, including vehicle combat. But it's short. It's just the one boss, and most people don't HAVE the quest, and alot of poeple just avoid the damn place....

So I voted for Ulduar....Again the lack of a faction assigned to it, with a quartermaster (lke a brann bronzebeard faction) no rep, no quests is a big failure. It wouldn't have taken much to have a quest giver in Dalaran sending you to Brann's camp inside Ulduar, to get a questline from him that youc an update as you go by calling him on the holographic walkie talkie he gives you (ala the ARchmage staff from Netherstorm). Most of the bosses the only reason we know who or what they are is from the Blizzard website which is a major fail....but at the same time it's well put together. the trash isn't heavy, but it's hard. The boss fights are hard, but doable and require thought and learning and everyone working together, plus with the achievenemtns you can ratchet up the difficulty and with the teleporters it's easy to jump around the whole instance and get back up to where you were....

But still....all of them pretty much fail i think compared to BC.

Yeah, I kinda agree, Tal

I didn't run SSC, TK, BT, Hyjal, or Sunwell enough when the content was relevant to really form an opinion one way or the other on them.  Gruul and Magtheridon were just... *yawn*.  Karazhan, while fun the first thirty thousand times, got old.

I wish Blizzard had done a better job of tying the raid instances into the regular leveling quest chains (without making mandatory attunements) just for some feeling of continuity.

Yeah, I agree

with Tal. Lich King's scenery and quests were a nice improvement over BC, but the raiding took a serious nose dive.

Kara (I like Hyjal too) in my opinion is still one of the best instances still in game. Had quests, rep to gain (of limited use though) and decent quest loot (the rings). I wish they made VoA  more like Gruuls (both fun and in the challenge) and OS a little more interesting (and I am curious why one doesn't get Wyrmrest rep while in OS).

I am hoping though they make the Lich King's instance another version of Kara in depth.

Imho... is pretty much raid-lite, created for the die hard PvPers.  Probably not worthy of this list... but it is 10 and 25 man content.

EoE is my vote

It's complicated as hell, and can be extremely frustrating... but it's a very dynamic encounter, and I bet anyone who's downed Maly feel's like a pro at the end of the battle.

Also, the feel of Malygos' lair... being in this alternate dimension... very cool.

Naxx would have been a close second.

Don't get me wrong, I'm digging Ulduar... and I might change my tune after I've seen more than the first 5 bosses.  But the theme... meh, I was sick of killing angry dwarves after running the Halls of Stone/Lightening to grind rep.
