WTB Heroics as well

Anytime someone needs a tank, and willing to help me learn encounters, I need heroics badly for both gear and tanking practice. I currently have ilevel 338. But I do not have all the dungeons discovered as of yet. I am not sure what I am missing. I have Shadowfang Keep, Deadmines, Lost City, Halls of Origination, Deepholm and Grim Batol discovered so far.

What about
Vortex Pinnacle, Blackrock Caverns, and Throne of Tides? Vortex Pinnacle is in Uldum, hovering in mid-air. My resto druid isn't quite ready for heroics yet--ilevel 311. But when I get there, I'll be happy to heal/explain/etc.
Cool, thanks I will have to
Cool, thanks I will have to try and discover them this evening so I will be ready to roll.
I could go on my shaman.
Need to get him levelled though. If you want to run some normal instances I'll be happy to go too.
We could run some normal
instances so you get familiar with the layout of the place--it makes it easier to learn heroic if you've seen the place on regular I think. Also, Kibs can frog :D. Suddenly Hex is hawt. I don't get home until 8pm server though--Kibs will be around earlier though.
Yeah I will do normals as
Yeah
I will do normals as well. I have done a couple so far, but I just need to do them period. But I was suggested to start doing heroics since I have the gear and it will better prepare me for raids. But at this point, I am game for whatever.
honestly, gear is only part
honestly, gear is only part of it. If you dont know the place/fights then you are hurting yourself and the group. Normals is the way to start. It isnt like wrath where you could just skip normals and go into heroics. well, i mean, you could but it would be painful.
I'm just going on what other
I'm just going on what other people (in guild) have told me. So I am getting conflicting ideas here.
Well...
it depends if you are familiar with normal mode runs and have tanked those before then heroics are fine. Though if you haven't tanked before now, then you may want to consider tanking the normal modes first. The reason being you as a tank have to make alot of split second decisions which may or may not end wiping the group. Using the wrong cooldown at the wrong time, backing yourself into a corner, facing the boss in the wrong direction at the wrong time.
Tanking is a very nuanced job, running on normals gives you and your healer a little more leeway in case you don't get it right on the first pull.
But if you have been tanking normal runs just study up on the heroic encounters (some bosses get new abilities) and you should be ok.
Like I said, I am game for
Like I said, I am game for whatever. I just don't want to fall too far behind as far as content goes. And I made this toon to do dungeons/raids with some occasional PvP. I am more than willing to run Normals as well, don't take what I am saying wrong saying I never want to do them. I enjoy instances in general as long as that instance doesn't just flat suck.
Experience
Gear helps immensely, but most of our healers have been gearing quite a bit, so you'll have that plus side. But as Kib said, certain mobs do certain things. Even on normal, some may need to be CC'd, depending if you have interupts and the like or if you can just ignore it because of your gear. It's best to learn what mobs do what on Normal before you jump into Heroic and things take you out in a few shots. Bosses can and will one shot you on Heroic if your not familar with the bosses, some bosses change in Heroic (meaning they throw in a new ability or two), while others remain pretty much the same, but just hurt more.
Again, just remember gearing goes both ways, it's not always on the tank to be all decked out, the tank and healers go hand in hand. As well as DPS, if DPS can't put out certain number, some fights will last A LOT longer than they should or if they're not 'raid aware' can easily kill themselves by not running out of a cleave, whirlwind, fire, etc. Remember, it's NOT just fire to stand in anymore, many mobs/bosses in Cata have NASTY AoE abilites towards melee.
Try to keep in mind/learn what CCs each class has available to them and their mechanics help a ton too. Also, if your a tank...MARK STUFF! Set up some raid marker hotkeys (I bound all my raid markings from F1-F8) or download a marking addon. Marks will help you while trying to portrait your ideas for CCs and pulling. Last but not least, don't forget your shoulder enchant from Therazane rep, your head enchant from Earthen Ring and the purple rep items (ilvl 359) you can get from factions as well. If memory serves me right, you get your epic tank cloak from Hyjal rep, bracers from Ramkahen and boots from Dragonmaw.
