Ultraxion - A little hubris in naming?

Ultraxion down... was 2 seconds from him finishing his raid wiping cast O.o
Takeaway: INTENSE DPS requirement! Gnome and Polly were pulling 29k, Holy and myself were around 26-27 and Mooner (First raid! Awesome Job!) was about 21-22.
Math time!
6minute hard enrage - 360seconds. 10man = 56,600,000HP
With 5 DPS and two tanks (3healers: assuming no Disc. priest) pulling the equivalent of one DPSer: 26200DPS minimum. But that doesn't take into account the time people spend out of the twilight realm, which eats best case probably 15 seconds of DPS time, putting the average DPS required at about 27k. Pretty steep...
Remember however that the real healing begins at around the 5minute mark... is it possible to avoid the majority of that phase?
One way to do this would be to have one of the healers be a disc priest for that extra dps: maybe even picking up the blue buff for RAPID UNLIMITED SMITE SMITE SMITE!
OR With 6DPS, 2 tanks, 2 healers Average DPS requirement: 27k for the 5 minute mark, avoiding the crazy damage phase mostly.
25man is worse: 184million HP with 2 tanks, 6 healers, 17 DPS ~= 28k DPS.

i hope dps req is not going
i hope dps req is not going to be too hard for us, we've all got the gear to pull that i think.
Ok
Well I can be there this next week, so we'll have uber disc priest dps, lol
i think a better approach to
i think a better approach to this would be to try to 2 heal it. puts dps req to about 23.5k-ish, which is a lot more managable. also, if the dps is higher (which it should be), the healing required will be less, as the damage ramps up over the course of the fight.
Not sure about the actual
Not sure about the actual raid, but the LFR has the crystals to help healing - do they help dps at all if used by casters? (I haven't looked, but if its an Int/Spellpower/Haste/Crit/Mastery/Mp5 buff, then it will help caster dps too - of course if its just spirit or healing power, then no luck).
Pulled from a site I've been
Pulled from a site I've been using to read the fights:
Thrall – Reduces the cool down timer for all tanks major defensive abilities and increases their duration by 100%.
Alextrasza – Grants a healer 100% increased healing.
Ysera – Grants a healer the ability to duplicate all heals done and distributes the healing to all targets within 50 yards.
Kalecgos – Grants a healer 100% spell haste and 75% reduced spell cost.
Noxdormu – Binds all players in a timeloop. If killed while in it you are instead healed to full health and removed from the timeloop.
So no, healer/tank only.
Healer only
Unfortunately the buffs are limited to Resto Druids, Resto Shamans, Holy Paladins, and Holy/Disc Priests. Again however, this does leave the option for Disc Atonement spec priest able to heal decently enough through smite spam for that extra dps boost if they get the blue buff.
In favor of two healing
I do agree that it would be worthwhile to try two healing him, but again, if the DPS isn't enough there is no way two healers can handle the damage through the last minute. No matter the approach, above average DPS is a must.
HEALERS
I just read an article about who should get which crystals and we had it wrong...
Gift of Life RED: someone with potent aoe heals preferabley druid or priest
Essence of Dream GREEN: Anyone really
Source of Magic BLUE: this is most useful to paladin cause of the haste buff on their aoe spam holy radiance at the end
We kinda did it backward lol oh well we can fix it for next time and increase our heals output. We were up against the enrage timer anyhow, guess we're just that good ;) lol
Re
In our ten man alt run (chars only normal FL geared/few lfr pieces) we were able to beat Ultraxion using the smite spec 3rd healer trick. The disc priest did about 5k dps I think and that was just enough to beat the enrage with the rest of our dps doing around 23k. If your group has two badass healers...then running 6 dps is no problem and the enrage timer becomes a joke. As for the soft enrage phase...I thought it was percentage based (20%), not at the 5 min mark. We found using bloodlust at the 20% mark helped the healers and coincided well with people's executes. Hope this helps.

I dunno if that would work,
I dunno if that would work, we would need a badass Disc priest willing to go with us.
If only we had one...=(
Who plays Disc priests these
Who plays Disc priests these days?
For that matter, since when has NO had priests?
I knowwwww

If by bad...

Which I'm SURE you must have meant since everyone knows I am teh awesomesauce.

No...I don't mean that at all. I mean you're so bad your computer committed suicide. You're more like applesauce.

I prefer to think
that my computer spontaneously combusted because it couldn't handle my awesomeness. :)
