Tips and Tricks for faster/smoother gameplay

After doing research for the past week to make the game run smoother I've come across 2 fixes that have dramatically increased my framerate and decreased my loadtimes and hitching issues.
1) SWTOR uses DirectX 9.0c and BW didn't realize it.
Full Reddit thread here: http://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments/p38lx/official_tip_on_vastly_improving_your_framerate/
After installing the DirectX 9.0c runtime my FPS increased by 15 gamewide. Make sure you download the English redistributable: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/confirmation.aspx?id=8109. Reboot.
2) Create a 2GB Ramdisk for SWTOR cache files. Only do this if you have 8+ GB of RAM.
First, follow the instructions found here to install the IMDrive version of the Ramdisk: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=154568. Do not follow any steps for the Virtual RAM Drive Emulator. After you have IMDrive installed follow the instructions here for creating the batch file: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=1965652. What this does is instead of streaming the cached assets from the hard drive it streams it from your RAM which is significantly faster.
If anyone has more tips please let me know and I'll post here.

i was told if you are running win 7 you can right click the icon go to properties and run it in win XP service pack 3 compatibility mode. some said it helps a ton but i dont notice much difference.

I found one in a post at the TOR forums that really seems to let me kick everything up to 11 and still run smooth.
If you go into AppData and find the SWTOR folder, then remove client_settings.ini and Graphics_Mirror.ini and reset your graphic settings how you want them before logging onto the character you want to play, you can get a significant performance boost, albeit temporarily in my experience.
It seems like hitting a loading screen leaving the planet or such that you logged in on reduces the effectiveness of this trick, if not completely negating it. I've still found it worthwhile when first logging in though, specially if I logged out in an area that's troublesome due to excessively large numbers of NPCs in combat with each other like the Black Sun Market hub on Coruscant.
If nothing else I'm pretty sure this having the such a noticeable effect should point Bioware in the right direction to fix something wrong with the way the game is saving our settings, especially given the size of the thread this was in.
After you load, Make that
After you load,
Make that file Read only and it can't save anything else and that SHOULD make the change perma.
