This is a really easy recipe that combines sweet and salty. And its so easy:

Cut and boil or steam your yams.

In a cast iron skillet (best pan to use for this but not necessary) cook down garlic and diced onions till clear. Add andouille sausage and cook just a little bit. Next add your yams to the mix and add any seasons you prefer (a little salt and pepper at least). Let all this goodness meld together on a med temp. Make sure to mix frequently on this last step.In a cast iron skillet the outsides of your yams should brown and really ignite the merging flavors.

Also make sure to cut your sausage and potatoes fairly small. Large chunks seem to tone the flavors down.
