It's a really intersting article, showcasing which dps are performing well in Firelands, and which are struggling. If you've been wondering about your spec and how it's doing, I definitely recommend taking a look!

Looks like with the exception

Looks like with the exception of paladins most every class has a spec within a 5% spread, and that only leaves paladins doing 18k to most everyone's 20k, can't say too many bad things about that. Not surprised by the underperforming specs, wish they would work harder to balance that. They keep saying oh it's not the spec it's the players playing it, but I've done a great deal testing and learning both MM and SV of my own class and there is no doubt that MM beats SV by 5-10% in a straight burn. Doesn't mean that SV isn't situationally superior, only that it's not superior in most cases.

Frost Mage FTW! ... er, well, maybe not

I'm surprised they even had 100 parses of frost mages raiding heroic 25-man - I coulda sworn I was the last raiding frost mage in the game :P

Aw well - nothing us frost mages haven't been screaming at Blizz to fix since TBC ended.  We've gotten to the point on EJ that if we're within 20% we're pretty happy.  But every patch we get the nerf bat again becuase no one else can figure out how to break out of frost nova before you get ass spanked in PvP.  Maybe I should just be happy that frost mages are still considered a dps spec - I've been told plenty of times that raiding as frost is about the same as trying to dps as resto or prot.

They are missing an important stat though - how well each spec scales with beer input.  I find that from 2-4 beers my dps scales up nicely nicely, but it does start to drop off signifigantly after that.  My guess is that with 3-4 beers I'm at that "aw fuck it, I'll move out of the fire as soon as I finish this spell" point of view which probably helps dps a bit, even if it does give Iky a heart attack.  Once I get to the 5-6 beer point it's more of a "aw fuck it, I guess i'll just watch the rest of this fight from the floor and go get another beer"

oh well

At least as a destro lock I no longer have to feel any sympathy for any other class qq'ing.  That was eye-opening enough to make me consider a demonology raiding spec.
