Silly little solo Lock vs. Lost Content Part I

So...

The other night Bhut decides to take her silly little soloing ass out to pay Onyxia a visit. 

Why you ask???  Because I was bored, no one was raiding, and since Bhuta is a PvE prima donna ... I'm determined to scoop up as many achievement points from the Dungeon & Raid category as humanly possible.  Also, it's kinda fun to down big baddies all by yourself (even if that means doing it with a felguard). 

If any of you fellow locks would like to attempt this, here's my build:

The only gear change I made was equipping my rusty old Insignia of the Horde.

No pots

No food buffs

No bandaids

Just raw warlock talentry... (stop laughing)

The tactic was pretty straight forward:

Phase 1:

Send in Felguard, and toss a corruption on the lizard's head and keep it up at all times.  Tap to keep FG's mana up, and health funnel as needed.  Then just watch Omen like a hawk... even though she's an old 60 boss, she's still a raid boss, and can 3 or 4 shot a level 80 clothy.  Even with just corruption up, I passed my pocket tank pretty regularly, this can be managed by metering your cooldowns on Demonic Empowerment (to increase his threat) and Soul Shatter (to dump yours). 

Phase 2:

Same as Phase 1, only when the whelps come, corrupt them too.  Siphon Life heals a lot more damage than they can dish out--so don't sweat it.   I tossed around a few fears and demonic circles in the mix to just mitigate interrupts when my FG was low on health.  By the 2nd or 3rd round of whelps, you'll start getting feared, save trinket until the pocket tank is in dire straights, and trust he will get there. 

From this point on it's just rinse, repeat, and keep your pocket tank up.

Dropped to 25% a few times from her AoE damage, but siphon life and drain life had me back up in no time.

Took about 12-15 minutes of this and then I was dancing on her corpse.  I was really happy to have 1 shotted her... and thank god she doesn't have an enrage timer.

I trashed most of the drops, but I deemed the following too cool to vendor:

Onyxia's Backpack (18 slot bag)

Nemesis Skullcap (my t2 head)

and

Ancient Cornerstone Grimore--an off Hand which summons a Skeletal Minion which can be seen here http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17067#screenshots

Also... skinned a few Onyxia scales off her if anyone needs them (think there's a pretty slick BoE purple chest piece that requires them).

At some point (read: when I get 6-8 hrs of playtime, and nothing special is going on) the saga will continue to Molten Core.

Until then... keep a look out for me slumming it in the old world or OL.
