So I have not hit pvp since cata dropped and I had a question for our more PvP oriented guildies. I looked at my current gear  and realized i had waaaay more heath and what not then my wrathful set. So if I queue up for a BG, should I just wear my "plain clothes", or stick to the wrathful set?

Also, despite Blood saying it is useless, I dig camouflage. Any thoughts on hunters w/ camo ?

well at the least...

ppl can't directly target you right? They have to blow an aoe to knock you out of it if they do notice you.

Current

Definitely your current gear. You may have 1000 more resilience in your old wrathful stuff but 1k resil won't make up for the 50,000 less hp...

Priority number one for you in PvP is get as much honor points as possible and gather the mats needed for bloodthirsty blue gear.

All of this is imho of course :P

On that note...

Speaking of crafted gear, I can make both sets of the cloth pvp gear, and I believe Rautha can make the leather sets. Hit me up in game if you need something!

Like I said w/ Kael. I think the other stuff ( neck etc) will balance out the older pvp gear.

Use your current gear.

There's level 85 pvp blues for sale from the honor vendors, save up and buy that.

As we go further through the expansion they'll be releaseding new pvp gear sets, usually at least one per content patch.

Thats kinda what i thought was going to be the case, I think my improved neck/ring trinkets etc will balance out the rest.

Yup, what everyone else said...

I put this to the test last night on my DK, I had a few more pvp pieces than I thought in my bank. I tossed em all on and what I gained was about 150 resil (give or take) and a loss of about 30k health...it's just not worth it. Just start pvping when you can to start building up honor points and slowly...or quickly build up your set. I might also add if you don't have a pvp trinket (to break CCs) you might want that first. It sucks not having one on this guy and the pvp CC trinket also comes with about 300 resil, quite nice.

On a side note, I thought the hunter camo was awesome...until I saw a hunter in his 'camo' clear as day in Tol Barad the other day, I busted out laughing in Mumble. Not only do I think they stand out more, because they look like a ghost with bright white outlines, but my TidyPlates also pins them out and I could Death Grip/Icy Touch them out of it, I love the ability, but it seems almost useless in PvP.

Movement breaks the stealth...

only if you stand still are you stealthed. The only thing the camo helps when you move is it prevents you from being targeted by range attacks ( ie other hunters). I was stealthed last night in Tol Barad and had alli run right past me and into traps. Of course, they could have just been un-observant....

So tidyplates breaks cammo?

So tidyplates breaks cammo?  That's just dumb, when you cammo you should lose all nameplates, also you should probably use cammo when already hiding behind something like a tree/rock, right?   (I love Tidyplates btw)

So tidyplates breaks cammo?

.

Tidycat? WTF?

What is this Tidycat shit?  An addon I would guess but there is an addon that will let people see stealthed/camo'd people?  That blows if thats the case.

Tidy/Threat plates...

Xyro's picture

This is the best example of Tidy/Threat Plates I could find, all it is, is a replacement for the standard fugly Blizzards name plates (Hotkey 'V', friendly targets is 'Shift-V'). He has his set up just like I do when tanking...on the flip side you can have them show Red as DPS when you have threat and Green when you don't, so you can keep whacking away, they also turn Yellow when losing/gaining threat. It's an amazing add-on I can't play without, it also lets you see mobs through walls at times if their within range, very nice for marking mobs before entering a room or picking out an Alliance hiding around a corner. One of the most recent updates is especially nice for pvp, it will color the enemys health bars according to class and/or put their class symbol next to the bar, very nice for quick IDing.

On a side note, the Hunter I did see who was in Camo and had a good ol ThreatPlate above his head, was infact moving, not standing still.
