Supposedly it's going to have hard caps on both sides. Now I don't know if that measn that we'll still see 100 vs 8 or if it means that if there are only 8 on one side it'll keep the catp lower on the other. I dunno. My feeling is that we're gonna see it still be out of whack, because they see servers like Farstriders with a 3 to 1 pop balance as being unbalanced, rather than balancing for that kind of situation.
What they need to do is open the server up to more horde free transfers like they did with Moon Guard, but do it when Cata hits and keep the transfers open, and on more high population realms, until we get a better balance..... but I don't see tha happening. Who knows.
The problem is our realm is still relatively low pop, so we're never in danger of actually hitting said cap. If they lowered it all the higher pop realms would be fucked.
as "Failstriders" who would want to xfer? I have alts on 5 other realms and I hear people mention how much Farstriders sucks on a pretty regular basis. It just makes me so thankful that I have Natural Order to balance out the suckage.
Farstriders is most definitely the ass end of WoW for Horde. I've nearly transferred off on multiple occasions, but I stuck around because I like NO. If this guild ever closes up shop, I'll be off the server so fast I'll leave flame trails in my wake. :)
If I win the lottery one of the things I'll do is pay to transfer everyone off this rock to greener pastures. Someplace with a decent PVP Battlegroup with server balance between the allies and the horde.

I've got a guild for my bank alt (and *cough* yet another for more of my stuff) and my alts want for nothing. Even if someone paid for my transfer, I'd still kind of be screwed because I'd be leaving two paid-for, tabbed guild banks behind.
Not too long ago I got seriously fed up with the server and started researching options, and seriously brought up the idea of starting a branch of NO on a better server. But as Ikuri points out, it's a lot easier for someone like me (one main) to move than it is someone who's got several raid-level characters. It never went anywhere, because most people didn't want to make the jump, and I didn't want to be responsible for mortally wounding the guild (or trying).
Still, though, roll an alt somewhere else, run to Orgrimmar, and sit in trade for a few minutes and you'll see why the idea of flight is so compelling. Instead of pages of ten-year-old humor, you'll find people selling things, looking for groups, pugging hardmodes - and succeeding. I once sat in trade on one server for a full twelve minutes before someone said something retarded, and get this: they got yelled at.
We really are on a short bus server compared to the rest of the game.
We have people unwilling to pay for 1 jump. WE have people who have 16 alts. We have people who cant' pay for it. We even have people who don't want to leave the server for one reason or another, friends, they like it, etc.
There is a cerain charm to our little small town, but yeah. When I was on my alliance pally on the other server during downtime, it was pretty funny being in Trade chat. There were 4 different ICC 25 pugs forming that only needed certain pieces, there were traders in trade, professionals, etc. It was exactly how you'd imagine it should be.
As long as we keep to ourselves though and stay large enough to do stuff within the guild, and kieep our standards up, well be fine PVE wise...but PVP wise our server is lacking, and the battlegroup is pretty damn bad.
But yeah no, we're not going anywhere unfortunately.
If it wasn't for this guild I'd probably have transfered. However i'm not going anywhere without every single damn member of this guild. This guild is the reason I play this game first and foremost and I'd never leave a man or woman behind.
It's quite possible. If I suddenly just didn't have this guild, I'd transfer for a higher pop server, try and get in a casual/raiding guild and try and kill lich king, and if I didn't like them, never clicked, etc, I'd easily quit. I'd say a common theme for alot of people in this guild is that they play because of the guild itself. Without it they'd just quit. Some friends of mine are shocked I still play Warcraft, but I explain that it's still fun because of the guild.
Most of them either were in small non-raiding guilds, or just quested and remained unguilded. If I were unguilded sinced BC started yeah there'd be no way I'd be here.
I never thought about it until now...that could be partly the reason I played so sporadically over the years, since launch. I dabbled with guilds over the years, even led my own for a short while, but I was never in a REAL guild until NO. I have to say, hands down it improves playability DRAMATICALLY!
Don't forget...even though PvP on Farstriders sucks...we're still at the top of progression...and that has to count for something...right? Sure we got it somewhat by default with other guilds transfering...but shit...enjoy the lime light!
Given that PvP sucks on Emberstorm and seeing how many decent PvPers we have, does that mean we'll be up there when Ranked BGs hit? Only time will tell...
I remember reading something about capping it at 20-40 if one side is critically low like 10. I think they are getting rid of tenacity too? Or maybe it won't stack as high.
That's not even the worst it's been.
I know there are some other people here who were in that match where we had 22 tenacity.
Although it was fun one shotting people in their graveyard.

We basically gave up on winning and decided to just be assholes instead and ended up camping the alliance graveyards all game.
