How about making one if the raid nights a lower level night? And varying the Old Skool raids?

Say run 2 raids on the low nigh for alts (20-40) and (50 -70) and on Old Skool do a (70-83) plus the scheduled Oldie. That way those of us with alts that need leveling, including non-guild alts can run with good groups and not lose the decent loot. Get lots of achievements and guild rep as well.

I still really want to get the ICC Blue Frost Wyrm, the Red and Black Proto, the Twilight Drake and the fraking Ravenlord (so does Ken.) I'm sure there are others who want the Black Drake and everyone wants the Phoenix pet and mount. The white Chicken of Doon would be cool.

And we can start getting people ready who are learning new classes and roles) my DK is going to be a tank and so is my druid, and I know nada about tanking. Always been DPS. There are others out there considering new roles and it's always better to screw up with your friends. Am considering a shammy at some point.

Bhuta's confused.

For the pre 60 stuff you mean dungeons, right?  If not I have a feeling I've missed some raid content.  I don't think you can take a 59 into MC with hearing "doesn't meet level requirement"... unless they've changed something.

Erm

Yeah color me confused. I think the lowest you can be for any raids is 59(?) for MC. Are you talking dungeons for pre-60 stuff? Because you are probably better off doing LFR for those since you get additional rewards for pugging them (and they are nowhere near difficult to do).

Ravenlord, Pheonix pet, and

Ravenlord, Pheonix pet, and White chicken mount should all be soloable to an 85. Especially if you're caught up to 4.3 gear. Claera's been soloing midnight since 4.0, I don't Magisters Terrace is any harder to solo than kara.

The pheonix mount I want to take shots at myself, but it should only take about 3 or 4 people to stomp it. Claera and I tried back in 4.1 or 4.2 and almost had it, but there was too much CC on us in phase 3(?)

If you are trying to do lower level raids with level appropriate chars, you're not going to find enough people. If you're bringing 85s, your level appropriate tank is not going to be able to hold threat. Best way to learn to tank or heal is to use LFG while leveling. If you're unsure of yourself see if you can find a friend or guildie around the same level to queue with and have them in vent with you. Claera and I have a tank and healing pair we play from time to time, and it take a lot of the stress out of 'what if I don't do well' because the only people to complain are DPS, and they don't matter. ;p

They're soloable @ 80

But us lock's have it pretty easy when it comes to soloing.

I used my free cata trial to solo-farm my D3's and matching heroic pieces (again) and had no trouble clearing any of it.  Heroics I had to be careful, but as demo it was very doable.  It's a cakewalk at 85.  Eitherway ravenlord will pwn a caster if you don't know the mechanics.  Has some spell reflect ability if I remember correctly.

I hear of Warlocks, DK's, and Pally's Solo farming pheonix mount @ 85.  I'm sure it'd be an excruciatingly long process to get the fight just right and then once you do, you're in for a weekly battle against the enrage timer.  Not fun IMO, but I may try it just to say I did.

With exception of Sunwell and a few mechanic driven fights (BT for sure), I'd say all the BC content is soloable or at least 2-mannable now.  Some of the 60 stuff is the same way... twins, AQ blob thingy etc.

I was soloing Ony40 @ 80, and most of MC... I wanted to clear all the vanilla conent but never got around to it.

I think Wotlk is where the soloing will end... too many siege mechanics to pull off alone.  Unless the gear gap in MoP is so big you can burn down flame leviatian without a vehicle... then the love boat, and oh snap, Maly would be a pain.  Mabye OS will be doable (at 90).

Hmmm... maybe one day I'll bring back the "Misadventures of a Silly Solo Lock" blog.

I did mean instances but also higher but not 85 level raids

One thing that confuses me is when soloing is the raid "setting," as do I have to set something or be grouped with someone? I did Setthek by myself but the dude that drops the raven didn't appear. As for gear, I am still wearing my L80 PVP set. Gotta start working on points to get things upgraded. Arahila is 83 and my highest toon. Never been to Kara or quite a few other places so I want to start running them. I have the phoenix pet, one of the few lucky drops I've had in my WoW career.

The main reason I brought this up is it is MUCH easier for me to do a scheduled run that a spur of the moment pug. One is that I have to make sure I've either eaten or have snacks since I'm a type 2 diabetic and two, I can tell people ahead of time and get them to leave me alone.

Sethekk

Anzu only appears in heroic Sethekk, so you must not have had it set to heroic.

Thanks!

Just FYI you can get into MC at 50+ now. I did on my druid to get her tier pieces. Still missing some of them

Old school Raids

Caladorean's picture

I would be interested in joining as well any and all old school raids. MC rep ( hydrax waterlords ) is a pain to reach exalt as I believe it is only 1-1.7K per clear after revered. Would be interested in AQ20/40 as well..For those needing mounts, the 5 mounts do count towards 50 and 100 mount achievement. I typically run Kara once a week , primarily on weekends , for the chance of the mount. For a full clear of Kara, three is a minimum for the chess match...bringing two makes it a pain in the ass and difficult.

cal

Yes the AQ 40 mounts do count

Kenludar2's picture

Yes the AQ 40 mounts do count twords the achievment. Ken still only needs the red one
