Lightwell as a raid CD

Read this pretty great article today about using lightwell as raid cooldown/ how to use it more efficiently. I know there aren't a lot of holy priests, but I think some of the information is still useful for the dps who may be using it, or priests using holy as an OS.
One of the main points he makes is that knowing the fights well will help a ton in knowing where/when to use it. I experienced it first hand on Halfus- the first couple tries I just plopped it down at the start, but as I started to figure things out I was able to put it in a more useful location. He specifically mentions trying to use it on Furious Roar.
I am going to try dropping my Glyph of Renew (http://www.wowhead.com/item=42411) for Glyph of Lightwell (http://www.wowhead.com/item=42403) because I have noticed on fights that people use it, Lightwell heals for a good bit more than my renew ( and until the next patch, renew is still pretty costly on the mana). Let me know if you have any thoughts! If you can think of a time/position you think would be ideal for a Lightwell I'd love to hear.

I always try and click a lightwell when I can. Also, I would like an exception for the rule against spammy spell macros in raid for a lightwell macro. I love Cardhu's and it helps to ensure you get the most bang out of it.

I havent seen his macro! Is it a general /raid CLICK TEH LIGHTWELL! sort of thing? I agree that in this instance it would be really useful and would happily make one. Ive noticed me calling it out can get drowned in mumble (in which case relm usually notices a few seconds later and yells it ^_^)

He has in in /say, which shows up as a bubble for me, though not in my active chat window for raiding.

it also has a /rw omfg its a lightwell but that seldom shows up as i don't run raids or have assist or need it but its there just in case

I tried doing something sophisticated with /tar lightwell , /point at %t /lasttarget but where it has a cast time I totally faked it for dramatic effect

Oh I'm glad you mentioned this because I was going to say something last night and completely forgot. I noticed on Magmaw, you had the lightwell in the melee group. I would suggest putting it out where our kiters (ranged) are going to be instead. A lot of times they were out of range for heals and got pretty low. Having it there for them to use would be more effective than in the melee where it was really hard to see.
Also, good call on using it during Furious Roar.

I totally agree iky! i was in bed last night and i realized that would have been a WAY better place for it. I just did not think of it at the time at all. I think this would really help the mages who get out of range.
