Joxmu and Joxis

in
So, I've been in 2 10 man raids. One as my main (Joxmu, Orc DK) and one as my alt (Joxis, Druid Bur). If you were on one or both (Hi Ikuri) please leave me feed back on how well I did, or did not do. Do I need to work on threat (bur) my rotation (DK)? Flame me up and let mek now what I failed at, or didn't as the case may be. I can't get better if I don't know what I've done wrong.

Advice?
I think you have a solid grasp of both of your classes, especially their tanking aspects. Your DPS and tanking on Joxmu is good - the DPS is especially impressive given that I know you're still working on your gear. I predict once you get more ICC-quality gear that Joxmu will be a beast - right up there with Warfury, Citron, Metalbreath, Mogragar and Dreadhoof, all of whom put out insane DPS as plate classes.
I've only run with Joxis the one time, but it was a good run and I heard a lot of compliments on your tanking afterwards. So I think it's safe to say that even though he's now your alt, your bear makes for a great tank. Clearly you know what you're doing.
I think the more ICC raids you go on, the more comfortable you'll feel runnign them and you won't worry about your performance so much. Just keep working on improving your gear, don't abandon tanking entirely for DPS, and you're golden. :)
Heh.
A prospect actively soliciting advice and being willing to improve?
I do love this guild sometimes. :)
Generally speaking, you don't have to worry about getting flamed. If you tanked, and didn't have mobs peeling off you left and right to murder the dps or healers, you did a good job. (The only caveat to this rule is if I'm in your raid; any time I pull aggro off you and die it's my own damn fault, and if you manage to keep me alive through most of a raid you're a bloody hero.) As DPS, recount will give you an idea how you did in comparison to others, but never be ashamed of being too far under the ridiculously geared folks up top.
If you weren't doing well, you wouldn't get yelled at, just a little coaching to get you headed in the right direction. For the most part, Natural Order isn't about "RRRR YOU'RE DOIN IT WRONG GET OUT", many, many times we've seen someone who maybe didn't do the most stellar job in their first raid with us take a little advice and be born again hard in the DPS, tanking, or healing departments.
In any case, Ikuri says you're solid, and she knows whereof she speaks, so congratulations on that. :)
lol
Well, I'm used to it.
Joxis was my main, bear tank, for BC, where I was a hardcore raider on Malygos alliance. I was the MT of the guild through SSC/TK and into BT, until my house was taken forcefully from my grasp and I had to go live in a tent for over a month, making minimum wage in Iowa. Yes, my life sucked. Oh, I also had to quit WoW for like, oh...10 months. Then I got a job at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa. I now make 12.00/hour as the local system administrator where I have access to classified documents that are worth millions.......anyone else see a problem with that sinerio?
oh wait, I was talking about how I am used to seeking help for max/minning my bur. omg, I get to work tonight I just got a ticket. Last night I sat here for 9 hours stairing at my computer screen. I will edit this when I get back.
And, we are back. Someone turned off the computers that I was remoted into. Most Likely in about 1/2 hour I will be getting an urgent that the computer is BSoDing. HA thats what they get for turning off the computer during the .net frame work 3.5 sp1 install. Bastards...
So, I am used to being a bur tank, as I was one even though you "had" to be a warrior for most of BC. Bah Humbug is all I gotta say. I actually got up to 85% dodge before they had diminishing returns. That was hard, no rage. But it was fun looking at the healers stand around. so, I was in a progression guild, hardcore 4 days a week, 4 hours each day for 25's, and 2 days a week for 2 hours each for Kara badge runs. Those were the days. so, I LOVE to raid, I just have a shitty work schedule, and then family schedule on the weekends. /boo I have no idea where I was going with this, damn ADHD!
I'm a part time Bear
It's tough soliciting freedback bear wise. If you don't die, and the raid doesn't wipe, and you're holding the adds or whatever then generally you did fine. I think in Ignis you were holding the boss. You turned him to get the fire on the ground in the right spot, adn then got back in the water and then stood there and held aggro. Perfect job there. I don't recall what parts you had on Kologarn and Razorscale. it hink Kologarn you just ahd to stand there and melee, and on Razorscale you gathered adds maybe? Were you there for that one or came in later?
Either way you did fine in Ulduar. I'm not sure your gear situation though, and that'd be the big holdback for content past Ulduar. I recommend signing up to tank a ToC 10 or 25 man run and see how you do in there.
As far as DPS I can't speak to specific DPS. All I know is this. If you want to be a top DPS'er in ICC and pulling your weight you need to be doing 3k dps in heroics at least. EVen 4k dps. I've seen higher in heroics with good ICC 25 gear helping people out. We don't have any specific dps dk's right now other than Dreadhoof but he hasn't been able tor aid much lately.
Do we have any other dk dps as mains?
Anyway the job of a dps in my opinion is to 1) minimize raid damage to self, and 2) do insane dps. As far as 2 on DK's I can't help you. I suggest a few resources like elitist jerks, or guild members, to figure out what gear you want to be wearing, what talent spec you want to be in, and what your dps rotation of abilities should be.
However if you want to be good dps it's good to stay alive. MOST of the best dps know that they do more dps alive, and avoid the avoidable damage. Don't stand in the fire. Get out of the way of a charge. Get out of range of the frost tomb. Run away from the boss after the suck in. Etc.
The worst DPS is the one who dies early on in the fight because of avoidable damage. I'll take someone doing 3k dps and staying alive through a 10 minute fight over someone who does 10k dps and dies within a minute from avoidable damage any day.
i'm sensing a pattern.
lol
heh
I actually tanked both Kologarn's, and got adds and taunted Razorscale at the end cause of the stacks. I guess if the healer doesn't know who is tankin, thats a good sign that i'm doing something right?
