I'm taking a cartography class this quarter. Our third lab was to create a chloropleth map (one of those maps that shows data by coloring areas, like re/blue state maps during election years.) Because I'm a collossal nerd, I did one of the entire world.

 

Note that this is just a first draft. The final project (due in two weeks) is subject to modification.

This map was created from scratch in Adobe Illustrator from a blank page. I used screenshots of in-game maps to trace every line with the Illustrator pen tool.

This is an extremely basic map, with the colors being only total quests (and even then, the numbers are overblown because it takes into effect a lot of weird stuff - the data was collected from WoWHead) I may make something that is actually useful in the future since this was pretty fun.

as for outland, I just skipped it because there wasn't enough space, and because... well, it's in fucking outerspace, and screw that place. :)\

Here's a vector version of the file, which can be resized (fonts not retained, unfortunately. They'll look a little off)
In most browsers, use CTRL + and CTRL - to resize.
remember how many steps you size, cause it will resize your entire web interface. ;) Have fun!

Technically Moonglade should be in the 1-50 category, since there are druid quests there, plus the thing with Omen.

That could actually come in handy for those that are attempting to do the Loremaster Achievement.  Kudos on the map!
