I have tried and maybe you can look at world of logs and see if there is an issue.  When we raided tuesday it was basically a combination of throw down a puddle chain heal hopefully get ancestral spirit procs and my HPS was absolute shit.  I was finally able to sit down and really hit the logs up tonight and I must say I am seriously disgusted with my performance.  Even at haste cap the minimal amount that healing rain was ticking for was sad especially since I was tossing it on the melee.  Our mastery is supposed to make our heals more efficient on those that need it most ie: lower hp more throughput on your heals.  Obviously judging by those #'s that was not the case especially when you compare us to the druids and priests.  If we are supposed to mindlessly chain heal now at least give me some better mana regen mechanic.  You can call this a QQ post if you like but honestly a resto shaman should in my opinion be an absolute monster when it comes to AOE healing.  Tal Sam and Irullen were MT healers so it explains their obviously better HPS, but look at our overhealing, Groz 37% Me 47%.  This is what mastery was supposed to correct and the reason we weren't supposed to be chain heal cannons anymore.  If your happy with it congrats but I can gurantee at the next tier of raid bosses where more movement is required we are going to be in even worse shape.  We had 8 healers during that encounter, in my opinion 1 to many and based on my current argument above I see no reason to have more then 1 resto shaman in a 25 man raid.  In a 10 man .... well I dont see the point in having any unless there are not enough paladins, priests, or druids.

In 5 man heroics today .... I was trying to heal a GUILD TANK.  She was rocking 140k HP in bear high armor and my mana pool was getting smoked.  I saw absolutely zero benifit from our mastery at all on her.  I fought through heroics to hit Ilvl.  Healing pvp, resto is an absolute monster but I am on the wrong realm for that kind of attaboy.  I am not about to fight and struggle to remain relevant as a healing spec.  I will pool all my justice points roll elemental and give up the spec I have been doing since I switched to a shaman in BC. If anyone has an argument against or stats that show we are in the same league as the other healing specs I am all ears and very interested in seeing them.  (Currently the top raiding guild in the world used ZERO shaman healers sad)

I haven't played Resto as much as of yet and I honestly can't comment on our performance since my gear still needs some improvement.

The big hindrance for us is I know is moving while trying to heal, it really does suck for us and so far I've seen a LOT of movement in the couple of raids (not to mention heroics). Groz really needs to be the guy here to respond thoughtfully, but I do know even he bitches about us vs movement fights.

Hopefully things will get better for us and here is to crossing one's fingers.

spirit walker?

Sam- I thought you did a great job in the raid. Honestly shaman dont pump out the big numbers, but you bring so much to the table. Do you think you were able to utilize spirit walkers grace much?  From what I have seen keeping it off cooldown has been pretty essential for keeping resto viable pve. Dont let logs get you down. They can be telling for certain issues and good at giving an overall picture, but it is sometimes deceptive to try to compare across different classes and dont take into account the variance in gear levels at the moment. If you really arent having fun healing, that is a whole other issue. I have been there- I played resto shammy at the start of wrath and really struggled until they better balanced the spec/ I got haste capped/ had tons of sp. To be totally honest i got so frustrated I went enhancement- but shortly after they fixed resto and I was a little sad I was misssing out. All I am saying is think about it and look for ways you might be able to change/improve/take into account upcoming changes first. You are an awesome healer- I have been in BH with you before too remember?! You did so well. Just dont be discouraged by Tuesday. That is a wonky fight with tons of moving, and our first chance to really test our  abilitites in a raid setting. My vote is for you to stick with it for what its worth.

Resto shaman healing has problems. Part of its mana regen seems tied into attacking the boss; shocks reduce your healing costs, and lightning bolt regenerates your mana quickly. In theory it works great. In practice, though, you can't afford to attack the boss at all, meaning you lose those two sources of mana efficiency.

Shamans have one instant cast heal on a six second cooldown, Riptide. It's possible to have it on multiple people, but not en masse like Renew or Rejuvenation. It does do a relatively okay tick of healing as soon as it's cast, but it's still rather poor for movement fights. They do have another, Unleash Elements, but that heal isn't very large, and it's on a 15 second cooldown; its main use is the +30% heal bonus on your next direct spell. It's also expensive.

Healing Rains is a good spell in theory, but it costs an incredibly high amount of mana and is on a ten second cooldown. Its duration is 10 seconds too, so you can have nearly 100% uptime, but it's not very mobile. Also, it's subject to the 6+ diminshing returns healing thing, like the other AOE heals, except it's stationary and on a long cooldown. So if a few extra people run through it, the spell suddenly loses a lot of its punch, becoming a general waste of mana.

Shamans have one mana regeneration cooldown, Mana Tide totem. It boosts spirit by 350% of everyone in its relatively short range for about ten seconds. Great, again, IN THEORY, but if you're moving you can't stay by the totem. Compared to say Innervate or Evocation which restore on a % basis, Mana Tide just improves regeneration - Mana Spring gives mana back, but it's identical to the paladin blessing's 395/5.

The resto mastery is pathetic. It rewards the shaman not for keeping someone alive, or stable, but for allowing them to drop to low health so that their healing numbers get larger. That's the actual mastery; lower HP, more heals. Every other Mastery directly makes a class better at what it does. Paladins and Holy priests get a HoT on EVERY heal, Disc gets stronger bubbles, druids get better heals with more HoTs on someone.... shamans get something only useful when the shaman isn't doing their job.

And they're nerfing resto shamans next patch. I don't blame you for switching.
