Hello loyal readers. Today we take our first steps together into the forray of Ogg's Guide to the 4.0.6 Daybreaker Helm Changes! It can be quite complicated so let's jump right in!

Firstly, we have the header:

This is the picture our Dear Leader added to the top of all Ogg's posts. When viewing this image, one must ponder the significance of the message. Clearly the sentiment of "Have a fucking pony" indicates we are receiving some sort of gift. Is it a literal, or metaphorical pony? Perhaps for some the pony represents a need for companionship, or to belong.

Perhaps the pony is not a positive attribute at all. Just look at the man's look of dishevelment. Perhaps this pony represents alcohol addiction, or an unpaid debt.

Continuing on:

  • Daybreaker Helm stats have been reallocated, lowering Strength and increasing parry rating.

This is a patch note. One can tell it as such due to the bullet point which likely indicates that it was copied and pasted from an external website. Patch notes are typically issued by Blizzard themselves, and indicate upcoming changes to the game world.

Next we continue on to the body of the post:

First and foremost, it's important to note that the helm is still blue in color, and very pointy. However I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard stealth-nerfed the pointiness by at least 15%.

In order to properly use this helm, you must equip it from your inventory by simply right-clicking it, dragging and dropping it into the head-item slot in your character pane, or using the character pane equip options. Do not attempt to equip this item elsewhere, as it will not be very effective.

Be careful not to accidentally sell it to a vendor if you intend on using this item. If you do, you have an opportunity to buy the item back from the vendor under the "Buyback" option located at the bottom of the vendor pane.

This text was written by Ogg and describes the change itself in more detail then was provided in the patch note. As Ogg is a player of World of Warcraft and not a Blizzard Public Relations Consultant, expect this section to include practical advice to other players as well as side commentary on how the change will specifically affect your play.

Finally, the conclusion:

That's all for now, but I will be adding the following sections in the weeks to come, as Blizzard further updates these proposed changes:

- How to Gem the Helm: Your friend, Shift+Right Click.

- Which Arcanum should you use? Hint: There are fewer options than you might think.

- How to polish your helm! (Guest Poster: Waka)

We can identify this paragraph as the conclusion, by the way the writer has bid farewell to his/her readers, indicating a metaphorical conversation is taking place despite the information stream flowing in only one direction. The use of dashes here is analogous  to the bullet point used previously, however the author likely used dashes to differentiate between his own writings, and Blizzard's edicts. The information contained within the dashes is usually related in some way, and is formatted thusly for ease of reading and quick reference.

Until next time readers, enjoy Cataclysm!

Brilliant!

I am still waiting for the guest poster though.
