In last years Russian agriculture companies start bringing pedigree animals. But there is also much cheaper way to improve herd productivity – embryo transplantation.

- How many calves one can get from one cow? – He started from the question and answered by himself: - 6-10 for the whole productivity life. But embryo transplantation technology allows getting hundreds of offspring from a pedigree couple of animals.
Embryos are transplanted to healthy but unproductive milk cows – surrogate mothers. Actually, for the short period of time high-quality mother families and herds can be created.
The method is implemented and widely-used in practice in many countries of the world.
In recent time more than 1,5 thousand of embryos will be brought to Shemysheika region and in 9 months there will be highly-productive Angus bulls, that is considered to be a model in beef cattle breeding.
In perspective it is planned to bring embryos of highly-productive milk cows with genetic potential of 10-15 thousand liter per year.
Dustin Dorrell supposes that Penza region is in a better position than traditional Russian cattle-breeding regions Kalmykia and Tuva, while amount of precipitations here is bigger and yield of grass is higher.
Technology of beef cattle-breeding is economical and simple. Calves are spending summer on pastures in natural conditions, sucking their mothers and eating plenty of grass. In winter they eat hay. For the period of more than a year they are gaining more than 400 kilos. Angus meat is special, so-called “marmoreal”, it is considered to be the best among the other breeds. As for the constant food base, it also can be made, all you need is desire.
