It.. depends on your location. I'm aware of Wiarton Willie and Shubenacadie Sam (the second being not entirely too far from me, since I live in Nova Scotia), but there's no real celebrations or whatnot in my area.
I didn't know there was more than Punxsutawny Phil, so wow..(and really Gus...poor g'hog)
and if he's right...6 more weeks of winter!! since I haven't seen winter this season..it was 70 degrees yesterday..

I seem to remember a "scandal" a few years ago where it seems earlier in the year the original Wiarton Willie had passed on to the Great Groundhog Burrow in the Sky and the alleged remains shown the public were in fact those of a stuffed groundhog. From the Wikipedia entry:
"The original Wiarton Willie lived to the advanced age of 22, and was found dead only two days before Groundhog Day in 1999. The organizers were unable to find a replacement, and instead marked Groundhog Day by revealing "Willie" in a coffin. He had been dressed in a tuxedo, had coins over his eyes, and a carrot between his paws. A scandal ensued when it became known that the real Willie had in fact decomposed, and the body in the coffin was that of an older, stuffed groundhog. The Associated Press was obliged to issue a retraction on its wires."
It's always seemed backwards to me. If the Groundhog sees it's shadow, and therefore it's sunny, It must be getting colder. If the Groundhog does not see it's shadow, due to say cloud cover, then it must be getting warmer.

I watched the movie Groundhog Day last night to celebrate! Living in Pittsburgh, good ol' Punxsutawny Phil is my g'hog of choice!

It's always seemed backwards to me. If the Groundhog sees it's shadow, and therefore it's sunny, It must be getting colder. If the Groundhog does not see it's shadow, due to say cloud cover, then it must be getting warmer.
