Designated PROFESSIONals

Does the guild have designated professionals for Enchanting, LW, Engineering, etc.?  I just thought it would be a good idea to have designated toons that act as a central point for building up the separate professions.  The way I see it, the designated person levels really fast with the support of everyone else in the guild and can begin to create enhancments much sooner than if everyone levels independently.  There is an extra burden for the person responsible for each profession, but it seems like the benefit would be worthwhile.  Also, individual player's profession progression contributes to guild XP.  Thoughts?

Not sure its really necessary

Most of the level 80s with crafting professions were pretty well maxed out before cata and most will probably level pretty fast with the expansion.  The new professions tab in the guild interface makes it easy to see what skills and recipes crafters have in the guild and everyone has been pretty good about helping out guildies.  I have a dual gathering profession on Alerex and was throwing herbs in the bank prior to the expansion to help with elixirs, etc., as well as fish feasts and I know several others were doing this as well.  While there may be some short term benefit to focusing on a couple of people, most people are gonna be running instances at 85 to gear up for raiding and drops are gonna be random across the whole of the guild and many will be BoP, so some of the more unique recipes will probably get distributed pretty randomly across the guild as well.  Just my 2 cents.

Yea, kinda pretty much what Rex said most people in the guild had what pros mattered maxed already pre-cata. I know myself and I think Moobuckaroo are already maxed in Alchemy, Relmiste is working towards getting his Tailoring/Enchanting maxed pretty fast and I'm sure the others who can actually stomach professions are working to get them knocked out as well. Best thing if you actually need something is to ask in gchat or check the professions tab in the guild window, in game.

IF my copy of cata ever comes
