Ok now we talk.

We're gonna need 2 traditional tanks and 1 warlock tank, preferably with nether protection. Should we not have the warlock any ranged class can do it, but Warlocks do it best in shadows...

Lots of spikey raid damage. 6-7 healers. The rest dps.

Ok here's how this works. There are three bosses. Valadarn, Taladarn, and Keleseth. Only one can be dps'ed at any given time. It changes every 40 seconds or so who this is. when they have 'invocation of blood' they can be dps'ed but also their abilites are increased. When they don't have this they are immune to damage. All three bosses SHARE damage though.

Valanar casts a Kinetic Bomb. you need to stay away from it as it drifts down to the floor and blows up. He also casts shock vortex which is a white misty swirl thing on the ground, get away from it, stay away from it. Both are 'white'.

Taldaram casts fire damage at people in cones to be raid healed. Also he shoots a slow moving fireball at someone, that person should move away from the raid so that when it hits them nobody else gets splash damage.

Keleseth summons Dark Nuclei and does a shadow lance at it's main threat target...the warlock.

When they're empowered by invocation of bloood things change....(each one, one at a time, depedning on whether they are the ones empowered)

Valanar's Shock Vortex is on EVERYONE. It gets called out and everyone needs to spread out more than 13 yards from each othe rif possible to reduce raid damage and being blown about the room.

Taladarm's fireball following people is bigger and badder. The difference here is that people actually need to get near it as it passes by them to bleed damage off the fireball so it doesn't one shot it's target. Where you avoid the first fireball, the person targeted runs away still, but everyone else tries to run through it as it's flying through the air to reduce it's damage.

Keleseth's shadow lance is pretty much just MUCH MUCH harder and will one shot the warlock if they didn't do what they were supposed to do when he wsn't empowered....

Ok that's it. It's really not that complicated when you get to know it. I'll describe roles.

Valanar TAnk, Taldaram Tank, Keleseth Tank, Tank healers, Raid Healers, Melee Dps and Ranged DPS...

in followup posts.

Nether protection is a Destruction ability...I'm wondering if I use my pvp spec, which has Soul Link (Shares 20% damage with summoned demon), 12k Void Shield and a buffed up Void, if that will work better. I would also use my Shadow Shield once Kelseth became empowered. But I can't remember if this is what I did last time or not...

If you had it...

Talarashne's picture

it'd make life MUCH easier. Maybe we need one of the warlocks that regularly runs 25 mans to have a Destruction spec for that fight to be the Keleseth Tank.

AT the same time it's NOT necessary, it just helps considerably...CONSIDERABLY.

But if you gather up enough of the Dark Nuclei then we can heal you through his empowerment...

By the way...

If people pay a little bit of attention, this is the reason the raid will wipe.....the Keleseth Tank. Of all the kills and wipes on this fight in 10 man it's almost ALWAYS a wipe because the Keleseth tank has died. Eithe rhis dark nuclei died from taking too much damage and he got nailed by the empowered Keleseth, or he didn't get healed enough or didn't have a dedicated healer to heal him through it etc.

The Warlock Tank is the Star of this Fight.

Nether Protection

Is handy, but not necessary.  A demo warlock can also tank this fight easily.  ANY warlock tanking should have the Felhunter out.  I put together a write-up on Warlock tanking in this thread:  http://www.natural-order-guild.com/?q=content/strategy-blood-princes

Valanar and Taladram Tanks

Talarashne's picture

You'll grab them and position them near each other, but more than 13 yards from each other. Don't be on the opposite sides of the room from each other. The dps needs to move onto them fast. See the Bosskillers positioning. You also need to watch for the empowered shock vortexes and get back into position, etc.

Otherwise they're not going to do huge damage too you as they're mostly casting on the raid. Just grab and hold them in position, and try not to get too far apart, and watch for the kinetic bombs, shock vortexes and fireballs like everyone else. Basically just a tank and spank with raid damage awareness.

Keleseth Tank

Talarashne's picture

Hopefully a Destruction warlock with nether protection, but any ranged can do it. basically grab aggro on Keleseth and wail on him. When a Dark Nucleus spawns throw a dot on it (or if not a warlock some shot etc) it'll occasionaly aggro on healers, but otherwise you should be able to grab them. You need as many as possible as they reduce your shadow damage if they're focusing on you. If you dont' ahve them on you when he gets empowered you'll die.

So Keleseth Tank. Grab aggro on Keleseth....then dps him but grab all the dark nuclei that spawn and keep them on you. Don't over dps them though because they'll die (can you downrank dots anymore?).

Taht's really it. grab Keleseth. Grab all Dark Nuclei lightly. Repeat.

Healers

Talarashne's picture

Valanar and Taladarm healers, it's pretty standard tank and spanking. You should be able to help raid heal.

Keleseth healer, won't be that much damage other than when keleseth gets empowere dand then you need to spam heals on the Warlock tank.

Raid healers, LOTS of different raid damage. Spread the love bubbles hots etc. Watch for which boss is up, who has the fireball on them, who has the shock vortex, etc. When Keleseth gets empowerde drop extra bubbles and hots on him to help keep him up. (that's the number one reason the raid will wipe...the keleseth tank doesn' thave enough dark nucleai and/or takes too much damage and doesn't get healed up... in 10 man a single healer should be able to keep them up wth help from the raid healer).

Watch the raid damage on yourself, be ready to heal it.

Ranged dps (and healers) (and melee)

Talarashne's picture

Watch for the raid damage described. Call out Kinetic bombs, and get out of them. Call out empowered shock vortexes so everyone can spread out and get spread out. Watch your ranges. If an empowered fireball gets shot, then try and run through it to reduce it's power.

Otherwise just dps the empowered boss tha'ts glowing red that the melee are on.

Melee and Ranged dps... dps the right boss. If you get tons of immune warnings you're doing it wrong..... Otherwise just run from fireballs, get away from people with shock vortex, get away from kinetic bombs, and dps the right boss. Reduce your raid damage as much as you can to help out because there's a ton of it on this fight. The more you can reduce the easier it will be to get the fight done.

never thought about downgrading my DoTs...I would assume so, because I still have Ranks showing up in macros. If we can't get a Destructo Lock for Kelseth, I can respec my PvP spec for this fight, just gotta know before we get into ICC, cause I'm not a fan of Destruction, although there are a few talents in there with nice damage mitigation. I also found 1 DoT usually held the 'Blue Balls', I think when they got away from me my DoT may have ran out, again twas my first time doing that fight. But if I can downgrade my DoTs, I could put a full ranked Corruption on it along with a much weaker CoA (Curse of Agony).

Also, it just dawned on me, I know some people cant play with their Particle Density maxed (Video setting that makes spells more 'dramatic'). HUDMap WILL show you where the Empowered Vortex's will be, making it that much easier to avoid them. For anyone who has used it in the Rotface fight, it looks something similar to that. I also put a post a few weeks back, specifically about this addon, I also attached videos with it to give you an idea of how it works.

Re-spec

Xyro's picture

I mentioned it in the other ICC 25 thread, but I figured, why not share the love? I'll respec my oS to Destruction for this fight tonight, as well as read over that Lock Tanking guide.
