I think that Arahlia is thinking more along the lines of...you bought a Collector's Edition off Ebay, or you've bought the WoW TCG packs, or loot cards, etc. Which if that's the case, then I wholeheartedly admit to doing all of the above. :P
To quote Ikuri "you bought a Collector's Edition off Ebay, or you've bought the WoW TCG packs, or loot cards, etc." is exactly what I meant. The sparkle pony and any of the on-line pets from Blizz would count and so would Blizzcon. As long as the loot is legal, it counts.
Is there really anyone here dumb enough to buy gold?
Never smoked, can't drink anymore (too many legal drugs) so must do other things to whore for badges!
Don't tell me you buy gold. Most of the gold sites don't farm legitimately for gold and play the auction house. Most of them hack accounts, sell off everything, and then give the gold to their customers.
I don't want to tell you how you play the game but I will be severely disappointed to find out anyone in this guild supports hackers and gold-selling websites.
I've been biding my time, steadily climbing in rank, just waiting for the day that I can raid the guild bank and auction everything off for profits! Just don't tell Tal.
Maybe a little over zealous. =)
I don't think having a badge that basically boils down to how much money you can throw into playing the game is in the spirit of the badges.
But...
We have a badge for smoking and one for drinking.... This badge at least shows actual game related activities.
Smoking and drinking
are game related activities, at least for some people. I'm not sure consumerism is all that interesting, honestly.
Most people
would never admit to "buying" gold, items, runs...Hookers etc.
I think

then ebay shouldn't be the badge..
especially if it's a " i spent RL money on RL goods subsidized by Blizzard"
but the hookers thing...
and if that's the case, i'll upload pix from Blizzcon next weekend.
No
Those items are sold by people on Ebay, so it's a valid suggestion. I bought my BC CE off Ebay, for example.
ok
so you get the badge then..good for you.
do i get a badge for getting the Cata CE off amazon? or going to Blizzcon and selling my excess 3 tix on ebay?
Sure
Why not? Whatever floats your boat. :P
Besides, it's a badge idea, nothing more. Relax. ^_^
Uh guys...

I'm a gold seller.

I'm a smuggler.
I can do the Kessel Run in under 11(!!!) parsecs, Swift flight Form + Violet Proto-Drake = HAX.
Don't worry, she'll hold together
(You hear me baby? hold together)
She?
Epic flight form is gender neutral, but Kib's definitely a Bull.
Yup Kib's a bull
and I just directly quoted the movie. My apologies to Very Definitely Masculine Kibito.
