25 Man Progression - Update

Ok it's fucked up but we're basically second on the server Horde side at this point as far as 25 man progression. Ex Obscurum and Defiance are gone in all but name. Uprising which is number 1 horde side is indeed raiding still. That puts us tied with Raiding Rainbow (a supposedly self-declared hardcore raiding guild) for number 2 horde side at 7/12 down on normal (but we have 1/12 heroic down thanks to Cacc so I think that should be a tiebreaker) :)
It also puts us tied for 5th server with a bunch of other alliance guilds (but many of them haven't had any progression in months so I don't know how valid they are). The top three guilds are all alliance side, and active. For some reason Alliance on Farstriders isn't that bad raiding wise. They've always had better progression and more stable guilds. The raiders on Farstriders always seem to blow up and infight. I don't know why.
Anywhoo....I'm gone most of the rest of the week but if the guild goes in there in 25 man on Saturday or some other day (like if you go do 25 man RS tonight and clear it and go back to ICC for Blood Queen) I wouldn't be upset. :P Given that we 3 shotted Blood Princes, and I think we were 1 or 2 shots away from downing Blood Queen I know we can get them both next time with time to spare.
Once we get Blood Wing down, I want to lock it and then do Festergut Rotface and attempts on Putricide (or skip him for now and do Valithira Dreamwalker).
This whole time getting mroe and more people in those fights on 10 man to get familiar with them. I think that helps immensely to be doing both. Part of me wants to suspend 10 man raiding on Thursday for now to focus on 25 man, but I think the 10 man work helps us even more. However pretty soon we're going to be getting to the 'tough' fights in 25 man. 2 more fights and we'll be 9/12 and on Putricide, and Sindragosa....and then the Lich King....Which the "best" horde guild on the server has yet to down (and we have yet to down on 10 man) and it's goin gto require work on everyone's part with nights of wiping to get him.
Anyway I'm rambling. Nice work last night. I won't be around on Thursday but hopefully we can still field 3 10 mans and get people in on those fights (focus on getting people into see Blood Queen and/or Putricide on 10 man). Then next week we'll start a fresh 25 man again, blow through lower citadel even faster hopefully, and then go back to Blood and clear it. If we clear Blood we'll lock it for the next time to do festergut and rotface and work on Putricide.
Theeeeeeessss is the plan. Sound good? Discuss.

I'm game...
for whatever, but personally I'd like to see more of Ms. Dreamwalker. I only visited that place once (Can't remember if it was 10/25), but people seemed to get burnt out and frustrated on it quick. I'm pretty much familar with all the other fights in ICC, with the exception of her. Since you won't be here on Thursday Tal are we going to be taking a break from LK in 10 man this week and just do our normal run through of Lower and into Upper? I'm also for doing RS then moving onto the Blood Queen, but who has the lock? I'm still not on the up and up when it comes to raid lockouts and extending locks and all that jazz.
I was also just checking out guildprogress.com, granted RS was 'leaked' yesterday, no one seems to have beaten it yet, I think it would be pretty cool to be at the top of that list. So hopefully we can kick some dragon ass tonight. I also noticed how we're kinda 'tied' with Raiding Rainbow in certain areas, which I think is hilarous, because as you said their suppose to be a 'Hardcore' raiding guild. I would also like to start venturing into more Heroic fights, since basically I'm set on my gear, with the exception of my trinkets...which I'm in dire need of :P

I was going to post this in a separate thread, but this seems like as good a place as any. :P
I definitely think that clearing out Blood Wing is a good idea. I'd have to say, however, that we should continue the 10-mans. At least for me, I think seeing the blood princes in 10-man before the 25-man made doing the 25-man easier. (Although it was still a little tricky at times trying to manuver around melee DPS during the empowered vortex in the 25-man version.)
Anyway, success in either the 10-man or the 25-man is going to translate into more success. More exposure to the fights will make people more comfortable with the mechanics, and more confident in progressing. Plus, more frosties are always a plus for those of us that aren't maxed out on the t10 gear, heh.
That being said, I would personally like to see maybe one more night of 25-man ICC raiding. I think it's a little hard to try and cram 25-man ICC into one night. And a week break from it also sort of breaks of the flow. So yeah, I'll be around Saturday for sure, and would love to get back in there are try for killing more.
Lastly, this is a partial aside, but I would really really really love it if we could down festergut/rotface either this weekend or next week. I just picked up the quest to forge Shadow's Edge, and although getting the primordial saronite together will be a bitch, it would be a major upgrade for me. ^^ Anyway, could we find a way to squeeze it in possibly? Maybe? I'd owe yall one big time.

I was wondering what everyone
I was wondering what everyone thought about extending the 25man lockout every other week in ICC. I know this week and last week we DE'd and offspecd alot of gear. Since we are full swing in the summer slump and there is no real chance of having a second night this seems like it could work out for us. If it doesnt then there is also the possiblilty of working threw lower cit heroic modes but that would probably be harder then the upper cit normals.

There's no need, we're not having trouble getting to the content we're working on, we're having trouble downing it. Until the guild is to a point where limited time actually keeps you from getting to it in a night, there's no need to extend. We also have opportunities to work on other hard-modes in the lower citadel for better gear.

I disagree.. we are having time issues. Normaly as a whole we begin losing focus around 10:15 server time (myself included) that is normaly just about the time we start in to progression bosses. Personaly I am not as worried about gear as content and would like to see as far into icc on 25 man as possible before cattle.

a) By the time we get lower citadel clearednad have our break it's 9:30 server-ish. We've eaten up half our time and still need to clear trash to bosses etc. If we go to Blood Queen this gives us maybe an hour to work on her if we're lucky. More likely it'll be 45 minutes, and we'll already be losing people.
b) I think we're seeing lower numbers of geared folk coming to our 25's not jus tbecaues of the summer doldrums but because they're tired of oru farming lower citadel, and then hitting the same 2-3 bosses in Upper.

I've already talked to Ikuri. We're locking the 25 for next week. Tuesday we'll START on Blood Queen. If we get her down, we'll either go do Plague, or we'll go work on Rescuing Valithira. I hope that we'll be doing "newer" bosses will encourge some of our better geared players who haven't been showing to show up on their mains ready to play. Then the following week we'll reset and do Heroic lower Citadel for superior gear.
Personally...
25 is the only place I can get what I really need, so I'd like to stick with it as much as possible. Granted I can still get trinkets and a wand from 10 man or Heroics, but no badges drop in 10 to upg your T10, which is kinda what I'm shooting for...even though my trinkets are horribly outdated.
Unless we sub a 25 night for pure LK shots and to get people the title, I'd much prefer to stick with Wed as 25 night.
