25 Man Progression - Main Declaration
Ok we're getting HARDCORELOLSRSBZNZ about ICC 25 now. We're running out of time and it's time to make some progression pushes.
I'd like everyone interested in raiding and killing Arthas in 25 man to post a response to this, with a declaration of their main characters and specs, with off specs, and alt characters. Doing so indicates you're willing to optimize your character, help other optimize theirs, and to study all videos and tactics for all ICC 25 man fights BEFORE raid night and get intimately familiar with them.
I will collect them into the main top thread here after you 'sign' your character. We're asking people to pick their best geared character. Don't pick a new character. PIck your best. This is the one you're raiding on until we kill Arthas in 25 man. Don't pick a new one. Pick one that's geared. I know people have changed characters, and have multiple, but we're running out of time here. We need to go in with the best we can, even in lower citadel, and not waste time. WE should be entering the instnace before 8:15pm on raid nights, and be done with Saurfang before 9pm server so we can work on the inside. Then we need to also be locking the instance to work solely in the upper citadel as well.
So declare your character and by doing so promise to STICK with that characer unless the raid leader specifically asks you to switch to your alt spec, or alt character for raid needs. If you have a melee and a ranged and a healer, don't try and figure out what the raid needs. You go on your Raiding Main, and if the raid leader needs something else they'll ask for it.
So declare
1a) Main character - Main spec. Say approximately how geared.
1b) Main character - Off spec (if you are a dps you don't have to do this, this is for non pure-dps classes)
2) Alt character's - Main spec, gear level (only list alt characters already fairly well geared, not new ones that need gear)

Depending on who posts, we're going to pick tanks and healers, and dps. We can do some rotations, but we're going to probably stick to a small rotation of tanks, witha wider rotation of healers in order to have the best experieince to get us through it. Once we clear the place, we'll loosen up. The goal here is to have fun, but to still get Arthas down while it means something, and that just means focus.
Lastly, I don't want people to get afraid we're suddenly going hardcore. That's not happening, nor are we specifically setting teams or going to exclude people. However, more and more we're getting people in their on their alts and it DOES slow us down and bleed gear to alts from mains, so we're going to end that process until AFTER Arthas lies dead before our feet. Then we can swap in everyone who wants it. We're just not going to be a Marrowar -> Rotface gear farm anymore. We're pushing progression now. We can do it.

Since there so similar in gear level, at this point I could almost go either route in decalring my main. Guess its whatever you all want, a on hand healer or a on hand tank.

Offspec is Shadow I have not geared for this much above 4 pc T-9
Alt would be Takchawee Moonkin she is geared in mainly t-9 also she has a resto spec but does not have the gear for resto yet although she could still probally heal in her moonkin gear in a pinch.

Main: Fire, 0/53/18. ~232+ (some 260 or so) PvP gear, with misc. PvE. Not good enough for ICC25 (am working on it!) and I doubt I'm the best around here, given a choice, but I AM interested, so I thought I'd throw my name in the hat.

I Love tanking but I think we have enough high geared tanks ATM. If we really want to push progression I will start focusing on DPS where I will hold us back less.

I am doing the quest chain that has PoS in it (have to run it again, damn it, didn't get quest turned in) and am upgrading my gear, etc as fast as I can. Or know how to...
I have a bunch of reading up to do but if anyone can take a QUICK look and say, "Hey you really need...." I'd appreciate it. Been a solo player for a looooooonnngg time and trying to figure all this stuff out for my self has beena bitch. But then I am one and a witch so I guess that's ok. And Buddhdist, not very good at it though.
Talk to...
...Siopao and Cacciatore. They're very, very good at their class, and both enjoy mentoring other hunters that can use some help in figuring out how to be raid-ready. That's not to say that any of our other really awesome hunters can't be helpful, just that Sio and Cacc are at the top of their game and have both said they're open to helping others.
Now that I've sufficiently tweaked Ophirra for earlier, I can answer this how I really meant to. >:)
We have a lot of really awesome hunters in the guild, and they're all open to helping out with specs, rotations, gear, etc. Siopao, Cacciatore, Ophirra, and Shump all raid regularly and are people I consider at the top of their game, so if you see any of them on, hit them up for advice. Also, don't hesitate to post in the Hunter class forum here, and read the discussion thereabouts. And one thing I do when I am trying to improve is look up the gear profiles of people at Wow-Heroes and compare how I am doing to them.
