See, tomorrow is when I go to see a lawyer about filing for divorce and start into the task of extracting my stuff from the house I bought (not we; she was $30k in the hole at that point, and contributed less than nothing). And then, after she comes home from work, I get to deal with the inevitable meltdown and screaming. The reasons for this action are many and varied; suffice to say I do not do this lightly, that this is a long time coming, and that this will suck more mightily than a black hole on a street corner.

Back? Good. Now you'll notice that there's a nice big river next to my city... which means I'm on a flood plain. Add to that the fact that Tennessee has gotten between 12 and 15 inches of rain in the past day or so (and shows no sign of stopping in the near future), and you begin to see my situation.

I'm more fortunate than my neighbor - at least some of my yard is still visible through the water, while his has become an impromptu swimming pool. Even so, I'm not going anywhere; roads and even interstates have been flooded and closed, and there have even been drownings ON ROADS. I may be a warrior, but I'm smarter than that.

Time to go find my flood insurance policy, methinks.
